Kala Pravaas was a four-year-long travel project dedicated to exploring and documenting India’s diverse tribal and folk art traditions. From 2019 to 2023, our co-founder Pratik Jadhav embarked on an extraordinary journey across the country traveling on a bicycle from west to east, and north to south.
State by state, Pratik immersed himself in local cultures, meeting artisans, observing their practices, and documenting their stories. Along the way, he kept detailed diaries, created sketches, and recorded vlogs, capturing the essence of India’s living art traditions.
This transformative journey became the foundation of our work today. Inspired by Kala Pravaas, we are committed to nurturing traditional and indigenous art forms in India especially in remote villages by creating opportunities for learning, collaboration, and cultural exchange through art.
